- Above all else, the main point I'm trying to make in this post is that practice must be a daily habit. Every guitar student wants to be a lot better as quickly as possible. Skipping days here and there may stifle your growth so much that you become discouraged or even worse. If you only practice once or twice a week you can kiss rapid improvement goodbye. You'll be lucky to even maintain your current skill level. there are millions of exercises and songs to practice and what you choose to play is not nearly as important as picking something that you can play right and then performing the same thing each day.
- Make a list of things you play well.
- Perform the items on the list every day for at least 1 month before you consider changing.
- Make sure that you can count the rhythm and play the piece confidently.
